This guide is designed for new researchers to use to learn about the various legal research sources and resources, and how to use them effectively and efficiently.
Each tab of this guide covers a specific legal research source and/or resource. There you will find reference to the pages in The Process of Legal Research, a research text written by William Mitchell faculty, where that topic is covered, a tutorial that will teach you more about it, and additional material to help you further understand how and when you would use a particular resource.
Please also remember that the Research and Instructional Librarians are available to assist William Mitchell students with learning legal research. You can stop in and see us in person during our open hours, or contact us by phone, email, or instant message (see the Chat with a Librarian box below). We are happy to help you in any way we can!
If you need more information on this topic, please contact the reference desk:
by phone: 651-290-6424
via e-mail: reference@mitchellhamline.edu
Or, during regular work hours, you may chat with a Mitchell Hamline research librarian here.
For information on the physical layout of the library, you can consult the interactive library maps or ask any member of the library staff for help.
This tour was done in 2013. The library website has had some slight cosmetic changes to it, but the content shown is still in the same locations.
